Quality Control - Biologist
Suruchi is our Quality Control Biologist. She received her BSc in Microbiology from the University of Guelph. She also has a certificate in Food Science and is currently pursuing a post-graduate diploma in Regulatory Affairs.
Suruchi has in depth knowledge and experience in performing complex and routine laboratory diagnostic testing. Prior to joining Gallant, she worked with the Animal Health Lab, University of Guelph for four years as a Lab Technician in the Virology and Molecular Biology departments. Her work focused on performing viral serology, immunology and antigen-antibody detection assays such as HI and HA’s, ELISA, serum agglutination as well as PCR based molecular assays.
Working at an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited lab, provided Suruchi with analytical knowledge and experience in Laboratory Quality Management Systems.
At Gallant, Suruchi is responsible for performing Quality Control testing to determine the microbiological, serological and molecular quality of in-process, bulk and final product samples received from the viral and bacterial production laboratories. It is her responsibility to make sure that Gallant’s high standards of Quality are maintained. She is also accountable for reviewing and verifying test results from external labs for accuracy and reliability. A major part of her work involves producing and compiling data for product releases. She also participates in investigations pertaining to non-compliances as well as validation of new testing. Suruchi will continue to expand her regulatory duties and experience by participating in annual CFIA-CCVB audits.
